Derrick Allison '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Derrick Allison Jr, I come from a single parent household with 5 sibling and myself. It was just my mom, uncles, and grandparents who raised us. I love playing basketball because it was something that I grow up watching with my uncles and grandfather.  What made me love the game was the pick up games we played in the backyard with each other since then I found a love for the game. I hated to lose but, the losing made me a better player and gave me more experience. I carried that over to when I played my 9th and 10th grade year at Willowridge High School.   

Having the chances to make the playoff as a sophomore was going to be the highlight of my high school career, but all came to a end losing the final game to make it by 2. However it stuck with me but, also it help me to improve as a student -athlete my sophomore year.  That experience helped me grow as a person and help me re-focus on being a complete athletic capable of playing at the next level.  After my sophomore year I made the decision to come stay with my uncle in Humble, TX and play for Humble High School. I feel that Humble High School would improve my education and help me accomplish my goals for the future.

My junior year I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing program at Humble High School.  Here I was able utilized my talent that I had developed over the summer, to lead Humble to a perfect season.  We finished a hard fought season going 18-0 in district play.  At Humble I learned to become a better leader by using teamwork, being 110% committed to my team, and sacrificing my scoring at times for my defensive skills.  I'm looking for a basketball program that has the best academic tools to suite me in my Engineering career that I am pressuring.  My competitive nature, my skill set, my work-ethic , my mental focus, my defensive skills set, and leadership ability would make a immediate impact in any program to push them to the top.  I am waiting on that opportunity to show everybody what I am capable of.
