My name is Carmelo Martinez, and I am a 6’0” point guard in my junior year at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, TX. I am proudly enrolled in the Design and Technology Academy (DATA), a program that requires AP/Honors classes and extensive community service. I believe that my combination of athletic talent, academic dedication, and strong character will make me a valuable addition to the team.
My strongest suit is driving in and finishing at the rim. I see the floor well and I have developed the skills that allow me to quickly identify open teammates and make plays instinctively. High pressure situations build my confidence and elevate my performance, thus elevating the team. I believe in leading by example and the importance of a positive team culture.
As a basketball player I am driven by a passion for the game and a relentless desire to improve and succeed. Basketball is not just a sport to me; it is a way of life that has shaped my character. My experience has made me a dedicated individual on and off the court. I pride myself on my integrity, leadership, teamwork, and coachability. Currently, I hold a 3.69 GPA, and am interested in pursuing a career as a coach, considering a major in Physical Education.
