Personal Statement

Sacrifice, humility, work ethic and leadership are character traits that I possess and continually pursue in every facet of my life.  These shine bright in my passion for basketball and will no doubt serve me well in your basketball program.  My story and my path are what make me different.

Ever since I was little, my parents have instilled in me the following core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do. I make sure to implement these very principles into every aspect of my life.  It doesn’t matter if it’s serving the homeless, taking care of my older brother with special needs or playing for my team, I believe that I can make an impact on those around me through the way I act. A major part of leadership is being a good follower.

In the Bible, it talks about taking action when we are called to do so. In James Chapter 2:15-16, it says suppose your brother or sister is with our clothes in daily food. If one of you says to them, “go in peace: keep warm and fed well, in parentheses but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? It is describing how we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He says that we need to love God and love others. I believe it only takes one person to make a difference, and I want to be that person. I have really high standards for myself. Some of those are to become a division one basketball player, to be able to follow Christ faithfully and do what I am called to do, and help those who can’t help themselves.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
