My name is Isaiah but a lot of people call me Zay. I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. I watched my older brother play and I couldn't wait to be old enough to play myself. Every since I first stepped on the court, I have dreamed about playing at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. I have strong ball handling skills, strong physical defense, mental toughness, and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while I also try to encourage my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players on the court. I sacrifice for my team. I work hard year round on my basketball skills. I have been participating on several AAU teams all my life, and also playing High School Varsity basketball for the three years now. In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a good GPA. I was inducted to the High School National Honor Society while I was in private school. I volunteer at local youth basketball camps. For 3 years I managed the score clock and player stat book for a Men's Basketball League. I am very active at my church (Oakland Baptist Church), including being a Jr. Usher. I am very well rounded as in I have been a Docent at a historical museum, I have taken ballroom dancing with adults, I sing, I do drama, I write stories as a hobby, I create music beats for fun, and I used to read to dogs at the library. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers, in my community and make my parents proud because God has blessed me with a gift to be able to play basketball and I want to glorify God by doing my very best at all times.
