Hello my name is Matyas Szani and my graduating year is 2024. I started playing golf at age 13 when my grandmother, who was also a golfer, took me to the course. I fell in love with the sport immediately and the more I played the more I wanted to become a professional. Eventually we hired a former PGA golfer in Los Angeles as a private coach and with his help my game has improved significantly. I’m a member of the Bel Air Country Club where I train 5 times a week, about 16-20 hours. Every summer we go to Hungary where my family’s from and I’ve been playing tournaments these past 3 summers. In the summer of 2021 the head coach of the Hungarian National Golf Team, also a former pro golfer, noticed me and my results within my age group and invited me to train with the U-18 national team. While in Hungary I’ve been taking private lessons from him. Since he personally oversaw my progress he invited me to the National Team and in the summer of 2023 I will be representing Hungary in various international tournaments throughout Europe. I can see myself playing golf for a university where I can further my skills and gain more experience. Every time I step on the course my goal is to beat my own personal record.
