Since I am from Northern Ontario in Canada, I have never had the opportunity until I attended IJGA Golf Academy to golf year round. This opportunity has allowed me to study with world renowned coaches allowing me to improve my golf skills. By continuing on to the next level of college golf, I feel I would be able not only to continue to improve my golf skills but also to excel academically in the field of business.
As a self motivated learner I feel I would be an asset to the team not only for my individual skills but also for my patronage towards the team.
What makes me different compared to other recruits regarding my character is that both of my parents own restaurants where I have worked for most of my life. By working I have gained a number of skills which has helped me build a strong character. For example, I am able to communicate and interact with a wide array of people with confidence. I have also learned to problem solve quickly and to diffuse potential problems successfully.
Athletically, through my dedication to improving my physical abilities I have continued to develop both in flexibility and strength. I have not only benefited from physical development but also by working with a mental coach at IJGA and have improved my mental game as well.
Since I wanted to move to the United States for golfing I've had to write my SAT's. While at IJGA not only did I work on my golf game I also studied there so I could score a respectable mark allowing me to apply to colleges in the United States.
