My name is Austin Gould, and I am passionate about golf, both as a player and a student of the game. As a 0.5 handicap golfer, I have dedicated countless hours to improving my skills, competing at a high level, and learning from each round. Recently, I led my high school team to win our first-ever state championship, an achievement that required not only individual performance but also leadership and teamwork.
I was one of the youngest players to compete in the Maine Amateur Championship, where I finished as the medalist at the qualifier. Additionally, I placed third at the Maine State Junior Championship, achieving consecutive rounds of one under par. These experiences pushed me to perform under pressure, strengthening my mental game and focus.
What I love most about golf is the constant challenge to improve, both mentally and physically. Whether it’s hitting the perfect approach shot or sinking a critical putt under pressure, golf has taught me discipline, focus, and resilience. I take pride in balancing my academic responsibilities with my passion for golf, as I am also a member of the National Honor Society and maintain strong grades while competing at a high level.
I am excited about the opportunity to continue my golf journey at the collegiate level, where I can contribute to a program while pursuing my academic interests in Business and Finance. I am eager to be part of a team that values hard work, growth, and excellence both on and off the course.
