I am a senior at Sayville High School and represent the Class of 2019. Since the age of five, I have embraced the game of golf allowing the experiences on the course to drive my ambition to work harder and smarter in mastering this life sport. I find myself practicing harder everyday, staying late after practice to work on my short game and more importantly honing my mental game. This past season I lowered my 18-hole average to 74.6.
I have been a Varsity golfer the last four years, was named to the All-League team each year and was named team captain my senior year. My career record is 38-0-2 and I helped guide our team to its current streak of 72-0 in match play. I have participated in the Met PGA Jr. program and have achieved over a dozen top ten finishes. In addition to golf, I am a varsity tennis player and enjoy hockey, skiing and volleyball. One opportunity I am proud to be part of is our school organization called “Athletes Helping Others.” It gives school athletes an opportunity to give back to others. Its motto is a strong belief I have: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
My passion for golf, and the understanding of the importance of an excellent post- high school education, has driven me to pursue a college or university where I may further the experiences of both. I would be honored for the opportunity to contribute to a college or university golf program my discipline, focus and ambition. These assets are not only vital to the game but to life as well. Thank you for the opportunity to share my journey and I appreciate your consideration.
