I bring my best, in every area of my life, from who I am as a person, to how I play golf and what I contribute to a team.
Ever since I was a kid, I worked consistently at two sports: taekwondo and golf. After seven years of taekwondo, practicing three times a week, year-round, I achieved my goal of becoming a third-degree black belt. In middle school I chose to put that training aside to focus more time and attention to my golf game. Not surprisingly, the discipline and focus from years of martial arts training allowed me to fine tune my swing to be smooth and efficient and a strength of my game.
I am a golfer who diligently works at continually improving my game. I have been playing for years and each year my average score decreases. In 9th grade, I was the number one golfer on my high school team and I earned 10th place at the PA state championship. In 10th grade, I tied for 2nd place in the PA state championship. Individual performance in my game is important, yet I am also a team player who enjoys helping my teammates improve their game. My coach often partners me with specific teammates in our matches to mentor them on the course. In 11th grade, my school was bumped up to the AAA division for golf in the state and I worked hard to qualify all the way to states for the third year in a row.
My aspirations are to attend one of the top colleges in the country for Computer Science. I have always loved math and the challenge of solving difficult problems. I have a strong work ethic and work hard to excel at everything I do, and I want to do my best academically to start a career in that field, while also being one of the best golfers on a college golf team.
Finally I take pride in the strength of my personal character. I am well-liked by my peers due to my kindhearted, easy-going personality. I am honest, and trust-worthy and a person others depend on. I volunteer hours of my time every month, which includes being a mentor and leader with middle school kids at my local church youth group. I am dedicated when I put my mind to achieve a goal and I don’t give up, even when things get difficult. It would be my honor to bring all I have to offer to a college golf team.
