Hi coach,

My name is Loic Simard and I truly am a passionate golfer. I have been playing this game for about 11 years now and I have been making tournaments for about 4 years now. My collegiate goals are to practice my favorite sport while getting a good degree for my future. I feel like studying at the same time as playing the sport you love makes it much easier and more beneficial for the athlete, so that's why I really want to enroll in an American college. Everybody around me tells me that I am a passionate, dedicated golfer who lives for the sport. I feel like my teamwork, my work ethic, and my talent could definitely add value to your team. Apart from being a good golfer, I consider myself as a hard-working student who chases good grades. I really want to succeed in life, and I feel like going to college while playing a sport competitively is a major part of being successful. I feel like I am different from other recruits because I have this inner drive in me that wants to succeed, and I am willing to put in the work and hours to be successful and meet my goals.

Thanks

Loic Simard, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

  • 6/10/25 to 6/12/25
  • 71-77-70, I played 3 really good consecutive rounds. I made an unfortunate triple and double on the second round which was very unfortunate but was able to recover in the final round with a 6 birdie 70 (-2) round.
  • Camp/Event
  • Quebec Men’s Matchplay
  • 6/01/25 to 6/03/25
  • Won the consolation bracket with 5 consecutive rounds under par
  • Camp/Event
  • Spring Open
  • 5/26/25 to 5/26/25
  • Shot 67 on a really tough course. Made 6 birdies on the back nine. Finished 3rd against pros and amateurs from everywhere in Quebec. Winner is brandon Lacasse, a PGA Tour Americas Pro which I liked a lot seeing how close I was to him. Theo Desroches a D1 commit shot 66 which I also liked a lot seeing
  • Camp/Event
  • South Florida Kickoff (HJGT)
  • 1/04/25 to 1/05/25
  • During this two round event, I was able to get a win in extremely difficult conditions. There were 2 very windy days which definetely made the course play much more difficult. During the last round, I was able to catch a 4 shot lead who was 7 at one point during the game. That is a very big accomplishment for me since I never gave up and always beleived in my abilities of coming back even if the gap seemed big. I made a 25 footer putt on 18th green to clutch the win which was a very big moment for me and which I am very proud of.
  • Camp/Event
  • CJGA World Junior Challenge
  • 12/28/24 to 12/30/24
  • 3/65 — 73-69 — 6,624 — 73/138 — I am really proud of my performance at the CJGA World Junior Challenge. I finished 3rd out of a big field with the 2nd best round of the tournament, 2 under par on a PGA caliber course (host of the Valspar Championship). I was able to gain 3 places during the last round with a clutch -2 in an important moment which I am very proud of. What really helped me during this tournament was my very good putting. In fact, I don't think I missed a single putt under 5 feet so that was very good and promising for the future. With my lenght of the tee (310yds) I was able to easily reach par 5s and give myself good birdie opportunities.
  • Camp/Event
  • Championnat provincial régional RSEQ
  • 9/30/24 to 9/30/24
  • T4/69 — 6592 — This is a tournament with my CEGEP school. I finished 4th with 7 birdies in the round on a PGA Tour Americas level of course. I am proud of my CEGEP golf season in which I finished 6th out of all the competitors of the whole province.
  • Camp/Event
  • Quebec Junior Match Play Championdship
  • 8/19/24 to 8/22/24
  • 1st/32 — 6538 — 72.6/141 — This competition consists of regrouping the 32 best players of the province (by ranking) and organizing a matchplay competition in bracket style. I was able to win this tournament, which means that I won 5 matches in a row against different players such as #1 of Quebec, Antoine Jasmin, who is also member of team canada for 2025, and has already committed to Oregon State University to play D1. Beating him was a huge accomplishment for me. During my 5 rounds I stood out with outstanding putting which made me win in overtime matches twice. My scores for the tournament are 74-71-68-70-68.
  • Camp/Event
  • Canadian Junior Boys Championship
  • 8/13/24 to 8/16/24
  • T30/154 — 71-73-73-75 — 6,800 — 71.5/135 — I am really proud of my performance at the canadian junior boys championship finishing 30th out of the 150 best canadian junior golfer of the country. I finished with a cumulative of +4 in 4 rounds with a low round of 71 on a really tight course. The key to success on this course was playing defensively and keeping the ball in play which I did really well during the tournament. Had a lot of fun and it was a really good experience playing with D1 committed players and I felt proud being able to compete with them, I felt that I’m at the same level.
  • Camp/Event
  • NextGen Québec 2024
  • 7/03/24 to 7/05/24
  • 6th/124 — 73-73-70 — 6,662 — 72/131 — NextGen is one of the biggest tournaments of the year in quebec since it allows players to qualify for the junior boys championship by ending top 8. After two solid first rounds I knew I needed an under par last round to have a chance to qualify for the canadians junior boys. I shot +2 on the front nine of the last round with an unfortunate double on 8 but I still managed to ply under par with an incredible back nine of -3 in a really important moment. I’m really proud of myself for being able to push through and to be able to post a good score even though I made a double bogey.
  • Camp/Event
  • Noath Begay III Quebec Provincial Qualifier
  • 6/26/24 to 6/27/24
  • 1st\44 --- 73-77 --- 6,400 --- 70.9\133 --- The course played tough as there was a lot of wind and the greens were fast and super undulated. The tournament really tested my short game since hitting greens was really hard the second round. I was one shot back starting the back nine, but I was able to win by four shots because of two nice birdies in the last 5 holes.
