Personal Statement
For my first two years of high school I was a three sport athlete, playing golf, baseball and football. After my sophomore year I decided to stop playing football and baseball to focus on golf and give myself the best opportunity to succeed. Over the past two years, I have seen a great, consistent progression in my golf game. Along with the steady decrease in my scoring average, I feel the aspect of my game that has improved the most over this span of time is my mental toughness and having the ability to deal with the ups and downs that golf offers. The past two years my high school team has qualified for the Texas 6A State Championship with finishes of 7th and 3rd. I feel that my team experiences from baseball and football, along with the recent success of my golf team, has taught me how to be selfless and put the team first while also giving me the knowledge of the importance of a hard work ethic and drive to get better everyday. As one of the few seniors on my golf team this year, I feel I have learned what it means to lead by example through both words and actions. I look forward to the opportunity to interact with college coaches and give myself the chance to pursue my dream of playing golf at the next level.
