Hello coaches, I am Luke Pugmire, and aspire to become a collegiate golfer. I have only been golfing for about two years and love the game. I was late to the game of golf and did not understand a lot about golf until I started to get into the sport more. I believe I am a good candidate for a collegiate golf team because of my work ethic, determination, and attitude. I know that I am not the tallest, biggest, or strongest but I believe that I can be a collegiate athlete because of these three main things. I think my attitude separates me from others because I am a happy person and do not let one shot or one round change how I am as a golfer and how I think I am as a golfer. I think that my personality helps me be a great teammate and person. I also think my work ethic stands out because when I feel that something in my game is not where it is supposed to be I am determined to get it where I want. I believe practicing until you become consistent and comfortable is beneficial in the game of golf and helps you shoot lower scores. I feel that my grades and academics set me apart as well because I am proficient in all my classes and make sure my grades are where I would like them to be. I am neither a perfect nor a 4.0 student, but I am committed to school and the way I am about in the classroom. I trust that earning good grades gives you the opportunity to get the education you want in order to succeed in life, and this is why I make sure that I get good grades. I am confident that I have the game, skills, academic success, and confidence in myself to become a collegiate golfer and athlete and this is why I am aspiring to become a collegiate athlete.
