Tyler Hansen '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches & Managers,

My name is Tyler Hansen, I am a 6'1, 191 pounds right winger from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. I am dedicated to my sport of hockey and want to further my hockey career as well as achieve all my academic goals at a higher level of play. 

I currently play in the U18 CSSHL League which is considered one of the highest elite levels that we have here in Canada before BCHL Junior A.  I am currently aspiring to play Junior A in the BCHL league in the 2022/2023 Season as a 17 year old.

Playing for one of the best hockey academies (Delta Hockey Academy) has prepared me mentally, physcially and academically to know what it takes to be a Division 1 high level athlete and juggle the life of playing hockey while maintaining high level grades at school. 

My 5 core values that I live by on and off the ice are 

1. Integrity - I always conduct myself with integrity as I know I represent my team, coaches, academy and my family. 

2. Respect - I have a high level of respect for my coaches, refs, teammates and support staff.

3. Responsibility - Embracing the concept of a team player. Hockey is not an individual game.

4. Sportsmanship - I have a high level of passion to win, but do it with respect and integrity.

5. Leadership - Having the honour of being a captain, I understand and embrace always being the hardest worker (game & practices) 

My  attributes and accollades that I would like to share with you are

• I was recently presented the highest and most perstgious "3 Start Honorarium Award" from my hockey academy this year which was awarded to the student/player for exemplifying strong moral, character and commitment to development - this included a $1000.00 gift towards hockey.

• In 2022 we won the CSSHL Western Canadian Championship with my contributions being 3 goals, 1 assist (in 5 games), being one of the strongest and most physical players on the ice and running the penalty kill.

• I work on my skills and strength outside of practices with private one on one skating and skills coaches in order to perform the best I can with my team. This allows me to continue to improve my skills and mindset.

• Growing up playing and watching hockey, I have the ability to recognize and correct any mistakes that I may make and turn them into opportunities.
