Tyson Sponchia '24 Recruiting Profile

I have loved hockey ever since I laid eyes on the game. I would sit around and watch the Vancouver Canucks hockey games every chance I could. I became a goalie because I realized how demanding and competitive the position is, and I felt that it fit my personality. I started playing goalie in Atom first year, and have been playing ever since. I have learned a lot about myself from hockey, especially how I can work well with others (such as teammates), how to handle myself under pressure or in rough circumstances, and how to be self disciplined.

When talking about school, I am a straight A student, and have been on the honour roll for grades 8, 9, 10, and 11. My goal is to continue to be successful academically (honour rolls, degrees etc.) and also pursue my love of hockey as far as it will take me. I am intelligent, strong emotionally, mentally and physically, and an all-round good teammate.
