Louis-Philippe De Courcy '15 Recruiting Profile

I worked really hard for several years to acheive a goal that i have been dreaming of since i am a little boy. I remember hearing stories about people from my home town that were going to play in the united states. They were going to college to play division one hockey. I am thinking about guys like Joé Juneau. Martin St-Louis, Alex Chiasson and a lot more. For that reason, two years ago, i planed to play prep school hockey to embrace the idea of one day having the chance to play D1 college hockey. Instead of playing midget AAA in Quebec, i played prep school hockey for Academie St-Louis, a team that gave me a lot of exposure in the United States. Last spring, i was accepted at the Hotchkiss School in Ct. Since then, I played for Hotchkiss this year as a sophmore. At the begining of the year, I was dealing with an hip injury which kept me away from the game for a while. I was a 100% after christmass break. Since then, i played the majority of the games and jumped into a lot of games that my senior fellow started. I gained a lot of experience. Also, i have been coach by a former D1 defensemen and by a really intense coach; Mike Traggio. I learned a lot from him. I thought me a lot about how to battle and how to be intense every single second you are on the ice. Now, I am looking forward for next year.I will definetely play some fall hockey to be ready for the next season. Then i will play my second year at Hotchkiss as a Junior and i will do everything that is in my power to help our team to get more W's then we did last year.
