I attend The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut, where I have played varsity since Freshman year, starting every game and playing every minute Sophomore year. On the team, I am known for my respected and enthusiastic vocal leadership. My skills as a Defender (Center Back) include tenacious ball winning, hard tackling, good heading, and an ability to play the ball out of the back. This year I was proud to be named the recipient of the W. David Coughlin Award.
As a student, I enjoy strong grades, with a 3.94 this year, and equally appreciate the study of the humanities and sciences. I have a special interest in History and will examine the subject more closely through independent summer studies. Qualities of discipline and respect I use on the field also benefit me in the classroom.
My multicultural background and family’s experience fleeing the Iranian revolution and rebuilding their lives in the US inspire my work in the community where I advocate for educational equity as a tutor and fight food insecurity in disadvantaged communities.
