I want to compete playing hockey at the highest possible level. I love the game and strive to do whatever it takes. Playing college hockey is my not only my dream but my goal that I am intently focused on. At my most recent high level training camp, the coaches' comments were that I was one of the more skilled players they had, was eager to learn and very coachable. I enjoy school and teachers' recommendations say that I contribute frequently to my classes and am one of the hardest working students they have.
Hockey taught me to push myself to get better and stronger to be a leader on my teams. Not only did this teach me a good work ethic but it also made me more confident than I had ever been before. I was a shy kid in elementary and middle school and even though I had a lot of friends, I often was unsure of myself. After playing hockey for a couple years, I figured out that facing my fears, and pushing through the "hard stuff," was the way to be successful time after time. Staying positive and having a good attitude turned into having fun doing things I enjoyed and this made me more confident.
