Charles Taylor '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Charlie Taylor, and I am a 2008 forward.  I currently play for the Westchester Express Tier 1 15P Nationally Bound team. Last season, I played for the NJ Avalanche 14U AA team, the #13 ranked AA team in the country and one of the winningest teams in Avalanche history.  Over the course of the 2022-2023 season, I recorded 70 points in 67 games (45 assists and 25 goals). I have always played as a forward and usually at center.  I think of myself as a strong forward with playmaking ability and good vision on the ice.  I pride myself on being a responsible defensive player, on my drive and work ethic, and on being as coachable as possible.

I attend Xavier High School in Manhattan where I currently have a 3.7 GPA and earn high honors.  I volunteer at school for the big brother program and have volunteered working with kids through Hockey in Harlem.

I started playing hockey when I was six years old.  As a hockey player, I have always worked hard on and off ice, independently and with my team, to be able to play at the highest level possible for me.  I love being part of a team, and my teammates are my first priority.  I strongly believe that there is no room for selfish play in hockey.  I am continuing to work as hard I can to play the highest level hockey that I can play.  My goal is to play for a highly competitive Juniors program and then to play Division I NCAA hockey.
