I have a very strong work ethic which drives me both in academics and athletics, this has earned me the Mathematics Award and the Male Student GPA award at my Grade School Graduation.
I just completed my first year of High School where I achieved a 91.1% GPA , while playing travel Hockey for the Brantford 99ers.
I have been on skates since I was 2 years of age but I did not know how much Hockey meant to me until I got cut from my first tryout team at the age of 7. I still remember talking with my Dad afterwards, he told me that we needed to work on some stuff and he knew what to do and how to get there. From that point in my life we started a journey that has taught me about work ethic, training and dedication. The motivation for me is when I am rewarded with more responsibilities on the ice such as Penalty Kill, Power Play or just demonstrating drills in Practice. I still have that rejection letter from the Coach that cut me, it reminds me of what can happen and keeps me motivated.
Travel Hockey has brought me to some cities where my Father has taken time to visit College's, like the facilities at the U of M in Ann Arbor, MI. where we were able to tour Yost Arena. We have also been able to visit NC State, Duke, UNC and Wake Forest when we took a trip to Raleigh NC. to work out with Coach Dupraw and the Jr. Hurricanes.
These visits have set a goal for me, of playing US College Hockey.
