Personal Statement

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/25732/quinn-gavin-white

I am no different than anyone else wanting to play in the NCAA levels, that is trying to get there. I have the academics, I have the skill sets as well.

I am good candidate mainly because I have had to work at every level I have played and nothing was ever promised or given to me .

In my draft year for the OHL I told  too small to slow , so I decided no one was going to tell me I wasn’t good enough as a player unfortunately I was small and not strong.

I decided once  I grew and when I could I would build the strength when it mattered and since that was two yrs ago, that is what I have been doing .

As a 16 yr old at 5’9 and 155 lbs I decided to challenge myself against 17-20 yr olds in the Nojhl. I struggled in the strength part of the game but continued working out and working hard at practise.

My game had improved and now I had to prove I could play and produce , so at 17yrs old I decided to play my last year of Midget u18AAA with Elgin Middlesex Canucks and it’s here where I proved to myself and others that I had improved my complete  game and was a point per game player and a 200 ft player who could play in every situation.

This season I have been fortunate to be in the same role as a top 6 forward playing in all situations in Jr B for the St Thomas Stars.

At this point I would think I have proven no road will block my determination, no league will change my work ethic and ability to play the next level.

I have grown as a person / player and did this while maintaining an 80% average for grade 12.

I look forward to the team who is willing to give me an opportunity to continue my growth in hockey and education.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
