My name is Matthew Cholaj and I play the position of Center for both of my hockey teams. I am also the Captain of both teams. Being the Captain means to show leadership. It also means early mornings practicing in my garage that I built into a mini rink. It means eating right, getting good sleep, good grades, and strength training. It is so important to be a well-rounded individual and to lead by example. It means commitment. So, I have a nutritionist that directs me to the proper food to eat daily as well as before any kind of conditioning. I study hard and pay close attention in school to ensure that I make Honor role in all my Honors classes. My personal trainer, Dean, helps me do the right exercises and stretching to maximize my performance as a hockey player. I also have been working with Eric Tufman for three years, the founder of 86 Hockey, to learn new moves on the ice. I believe if you want to achieve your goals, you always have to give it 100%. Whether it’s a game, practice, scrimmage or taking a test.
