Riley Craigen '24 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a defenseman in the SJHL for the 2024/25 Melville Millionaires in Melville, Saskatchewan.  I am known for my strong skating, particularly backwards, excellent positional awareness, and quick decision-making on the ice.  I pride myself on my hockey IQ and the ability to adapt quickly to plays.  I thrive in a team environment, and I value clear communication with my teammates and coaches.  I was drafted 49th overall in the SJHL Bantam draft to the Melville Millionaires 

Prior to this season,  I played for the U18AAA Estevan Bears in Estevan, Saskatchewan.   I held a leadership role as the Assistant Captain for the 2023-2024 season.  My leadership experience there has been instrumental in shaping my game. 

In June 2024, I graduated from Martin Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Academically I maintained a high average and was on the honour roll throughout high school.  My future aspirations lie in medicine, with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.  My strong work ethic and determination set me apart from others, as I always strive to do better and push my limits.  I aspire to be the best I can be in hockey, at school, and in life.
