I began playing lacrosse in 5th grade when I moved to California. I immediately fell in love with the sport because of the physical and mental abilities needed to play. My greatest strength as a player is my game IQ. I excel at analyzing the field and quickly making decisions, a critical skill when playing off-ball defense. The coach that introduced me to lacrosse recently wrote to my parents and said, “His ability to see and understand the larger chess match of the game made coaching Ty an absolute joy.” In addition to my game IQ, I am a strong leader. I work to communicate with my teammates to keep them organized, support my teammates on and off the field, and bring energy to my team.
Outside of lacrosse, I am a highly motivated student. I like to challenge myself academically and I work to achieve at the highest levels in my classes and academic clubs. These same values carry over to how I play lacrosse, driving me to work hard whether practicing with my team or on my own.
