My name is Alex Turner and I am starting my Junior year in the fall of 2020. I have been playing lacrosse since the 2nd grade, with recreational, travel and club teams. I am a midfielder, and my strengths are playing defensively. My best skill is winning ground balls - my fellow team mates and coaches have given me the nickname "the vacuum" as I always come up with the ball.
My personality on and off the field is one of a natural leader. I love helping the coaches with drills and encouraging my team mates. I feel lacrosse is truly a team sport, and it takes communication and trust in your team mates to succeed. I am also a mentor for my high school, serving as a guide and friend to new students in our school.
Although I love playing lacrosse, my priority for selecting a college is the academics. I am an honor roll student, with a GPA of 4.2 and 4.5 for my first 2 years of high school. I enroll in mostly honors or AP classes, and my passion in school is history. Although I love history, my career goals are geared towards Computer Science and Cyber Security. I was selected to participate in my high schools Applied Research Lab for my Junior and Senior year where I will be enrolled in the Cyber Security program. This will allow me to deep dive into the discipline and obtain hands on experience.
