Personal Statement
I am a 5'9", 175lb lacrosse midfielder from Poolesville, MD. I started playing lacrosse in 8th grade, but managed to play varsity for both my Freshmen and Sophomore year. I have played with my current Club, Madlax, for the last two years as well. This past summer, I represented my club at the NLF National Tournament. I played football both my Freshmen and Sophomore year and was one of only three out of approximately fifty participants to complete a timed obstacle course called The Punisher. I pride myself on my inability to quit and doing whatever it takes to help the team.
This past summer, I attended a three week Outward Bound Course in the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota. It was an intense three weeks that involved both hiking and canoeing far from any technology or shelter. We were a small group of seven kids and two instructors. By the end of the three weeks, I was voted Permanent Team Leader by my peers and in the final thirteen mile wilderness triathlon, I not only finished first, I set a new course record.
I was accepted into and am part of the Global Ecology Magnet program at my High School. It is an extremely competitive program that requires I take primarily AP and Honors courses. I am currently interested in studying psychology, but am very open to other possible majors. I am also very open to the location and size of school. Although, I would prefer to attend a school not much smaller than about 2500 students.
I am looking to make a strong impact on whatever team I play on.
