Hello, my name is Antonio Arcona. I am a 16 year old, 2018 left-handed goalie. I attend Norfolk Academy and have a 3.4 GPA (92% weighted average) after my sophomore year, and scored a 1200 on my PSAT. I am a hard-worker and am always dedicated to improving in whatever I do. I always try to think how to get better, as well as how to make the team around me better. I always listen to my coaches so they do not have to tell me what to do more than one time, and willingly do whatever they ask, even if it means that I must play a different position if we have a shortage of players. I always give it my best in practices and in games, and leave whatever I have out on the field. I have been playing lacrosse for 10 years. I split halves in goal on the Varsity lacrosse team this past year at Norfolk Academy, and we competed very closely with teams such as St. Stephen's/St. Agnes and the Hill Academy, and beat teams such as Gilman, Shady Side Academy, and St. Xavier's. During our school season, I posted a 62% save percentage. I also play for Amped Lacrosse, an elite team based in Richmond, Virginia, where I split halves with another goalie. During this summer season, I had a 64% save percentage, and ended the season with 7 saves and 1 goal allowed in the half that I played against PrimeTime lacrosse, which has 10 Division 1 commited players. I have also played football for 10 years, and I am currently on the Varsity team. Academically, I am the Norfolk Academy 2018 Malone Scholar, a member of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and was a part of the National Junior Honor Society when I attended Great Neck Middle School before being accepted into Norfolk Academy. I was also a youth basketball assistant coach, and I volunteer at underprivileged elementary schools as community service for Norfolk Academy. One of my post-secondary goals is to play goalie at the highest levels of Division 1, Division 2, or Division 3 lacrosse. Another goal would be to receive an athletic and/or an academic scholarship to either a Division 1, Division 2, or Division 3 school. To play college lacrosse has been a dream ever since I was a little kid, and now I hope to make that possible.
