MPSRA 2016 Spring...Personal Statement
I started rowing spring season freshman year, and immediately took to the sport. Now in my junior year, I am starting to take a serious look at schools that have rowing programs as I would like to continue rowing after high school. I love being out on the water, the erg room and finding ways to improve myself and my team across all boats. The end of my sophomore year I was voted team captain, and received the Schofield Award which is given to the most dedicated rower on the team. I also brought athletes from other sports into the program and significantly reduced the team 2k average, which will bring more competition and success to the program for years to come.
I enjoy participating in this sport, the team chemistry needing to perform at a high level and I have the drive to constantly improve. In my sophomore year I was voted best teammate, which meant a great deal to me. I sincerely enjoy sharing in the success of my teammates in other boats as much as I do with those in my own.
