Rowing in high school has influenced me for the better like nothing else has before. Through the long hours, the determination, and the willingness to push myself further than before, I am confident when I say I would not be where I am today if it were not for rowing. I take great pride in saying that I strive for excellence, both academically and athletically. I will improve until there is no room for improvement. I congratulate myself on a good outcome but never rest until that outcome is the best I can possibly give.
I hope for collegiate rowing to be the same backbone and the same support to my life as high school rowing is. Helping me managing my time, giving me a source of motivation, and starting new friendships. I believe that academics and rowing go in tandem. Both giving me new challenges to conquer, new checkpoints to reach, and new things to learn. I enjoy every last part of it, the good and the bad. I enjoy struggle because I know with struggle, comes growth. With growth, a better version of me.
