Personal Statement

I am someone who never gives up, and I try my best through thick and thin. I give my 100% no matter what. I aspire to be the best athlete possible, and the best teammate possible. I’m a good student that tries my hardest and is willing to get extra help whenever necessary. I am a student and player that is unashamed to ask for help, for anything.  I’m more than happy to support my team from any position on the field, and will uplift and motivate my team through even the hardest of difficulties. I have loved this sport since I was in 5th grade. At first it was just a way to stay active, but quickly after I started, I was hooked. I played rec ball in 5th grade, and I tried out for the middle school team the following year. At the start of my first middle school season, I was nothing but some extra squad depth. Though after I was given game time, I made a huge difference on the field. In my middle school athletic career, I played in 3/3 cup finals for my area. At the end of my 7th grade season, the high school coach saw something special in me, and pulled me up a year early to play for his Junior Varsity team. I put my heart in all the practices, and I eventually became a starting left back, then turned center back. After we failed to make it past the first round of the state championship, I practiced harder and harder every day that I could. I developed stronger skills, and in my 8th grade year I was moved to a starting center midfielder. Since then I’ve been striving to keep the intensity high in practice and in games alike, as underperforming is one of the worst feelings I have gotten and hope to never feel again. I have a 4.0 GPA and have designated time daily to maintain it. I put my heart into school, soccer, and everything else I do. I have a fear of being average.
