Born in the beautiful island of Mauritius and moved to Canada with my parents and siblings in 2008, I was only seven years old then. Due to my parents jobs I lived in different provinces. My parents came to Canada on work visa and finally became permanent resident of Canada.
Life after high school was fun and emotional at the same time, leaving behind a lifestyle that I had become accustomed too and now focusing to prepare my future. I enjoyed my time in school and I have played soccer throughout Canada. My calling ever since I was a child was to become a professional Football player and I am a fan of Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs. Despite the struggle my parents were encountering they managed to send me to Soccer academy in Mississauga Ontario Canada, waking up early on Saturday cold and snowy morning to help me move in my desired career.
When I moved to Edmonton one afternoon during summer breaks I was playing football by myself on the field when I heard someone calling me and asked if I wanted to play soccer, I replied” yes “and I did not even know that the guy was a coach, his name was Rudy Kern. He asked where I lived and that he wanted to meet my parents. My mother was home that day, coach Rudy met her and asked if I could play soccer for his team. My mum agreed but her only concern was that she could not drop me at the field as her work schedule was tight and dad being a long haul truck driver most of the time away from home. To this Coach Rudy said it was not an issue as he would pick me up and drop me off as he does for other kids. That was a kick start of my football career.
At the age of 15 I tried out for South west Sting Soccer club and was selected whereby I played for the city of Edmonton and we won the provincial championships.
I also won the Most Valuable Player for outstanding performance and fair sportsmanship at Harry Ainlay High School Soccer Team.
After four seasons with Sting and graduating High School I realized it was necessary for me to move on and play football abroad because it would make me better at football player. I have been searching for Football academy and got an offer at FC Malaga City Academy in Spain, where I will spend the next five months playing against the top youth clubs in Spain which will enhance my football skills. I went to Malaga on Jan 6 2020, and it was not what I expected a soccer program to be poor quality in staff and no welcoming approach. I returned back to Edmonton now searching for a better academy or college where I can train and make it in the professional squad . I have applied to Cardiff university as well upon request of the agent .
As every sports have career ending injuries, my backup plan is to study Law. I have been passionate about it ever since I started school. It became stronger when we had a school trip organized to assist court proceedings. We had a chat with the judge and the lawyers and explaining to us how the criminals were charged and the court procedures worked. I love debates and the way we make laws and how people are charged when you have broken the law, it’s all very intriguing. So my hope is to study at Cardiff and make my dream become my reality.
I have a strong competitive character and with perseverance I will achieve my goals as I never give up on my dreams and always strive for it.
