Ronaldo Fernandez '24 Recruiting Profile

Dear Perspective Coach,

My name is Ronaldo Fernandez. I am a multi-sport scholar athlete (soccer, futsal, cross country, and track & field). I have learned so much from different teams I have been a part of, and I am very grateful for all the coaches I have played for throughout my career. Each sport in which I have participated has contributed to my athletic development, enhancing my skillset, and making me a better and more complete soccer player. The beautiful game is by far my favorite sport and the one I am most passionate about. Soccer is where I have had the greatest success and the sport I have decided to focus on for college. Playing soccer at the highest level for the past five years, on Development Academy and MLS Next teams, has prepared me for the next stage of my soccer career which I am most excited about. Thinking about my future soccer career, I decided to try-out and was recruited by the City SC Temecula UPSL team. The opportunity to play and compare myself to other players that have already played at a college or semi-professional level as been incredible. I am certain that playing at this most competitive level against players that are older and have more experience than I do, is priceless and most valuable. 

On the field, I am a versatile offensive player capable of playing multiple positions: striker, winger or attacking midfielder. I am clever, quick, and clinical with both feet. Some of my strengths include ball control and distribution, skill moves, my speed and fitness, constant runs to open space and finishing. I pride myself on being a well-rounded soccer player and am a defender's nightmare. I believe that I not only have the talent to compete for a collegiate soccer team, but also have the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. I have been told repeatedly that I am an impact player by coaches that have seen me at games and at ID camps. 

Off the field, I have been committed to achieving the highest grades possible. In high school, I am currently enrolled in the prestigious IB Diploma and Virtual Enterprise programs. I envision myself attending a university where I can focus on my academic career in Business as well as competing in a distinguished soccer program. Ultimately, success on and off the field goes hand in hand, hence, I am committed and intend to excel in both.  My hope is that my dedication, resiliency, determination and commitment to soccer and academics over the years, will provide me with opportunities to do both successfully in the near future.
