Raphael Tangalos '26 Recruiting Profile

My personality is shaped by traits like perseverance, patience, and the ability to make meaningful relationships with teachers, coaches, and friends. Along the way, I've encountered obstacles, faced the challenge of being the underdog or underestimated, and have experienced setbacks both in the classroom and on the pitch from time to time. Yet, each time, I've found a way to endure and overcome. 

I look to find silver linings and learn lessons in every situation I’m in.  Whether it's excelling in my academics or the time I won a national title in soccer, I make a point to reflect on my experiences and identify areas for improvement while also learning to celebrate the victories. I'm certain that if asked, my teachers and coaches would speak to my positive presence and say that I am a pleasure to have in class. And on the pitch, a great teammate with a very coachable mindset who builds teammates up instead of tearing them down. They would also recognize my eagerness for feedback and dedication for continuing to grow as a player. 

Reflection and being able to adapt have been very beneficial for me.  I'm confident that my commitment, coachable mindset and trustworthy personality will make me a valuable asset to any team looking for a student-athlete who is dedicated, reliable, willing to learn and represent its program with pride and respect.
