Soccer for me has been a huge part of my life. Growing up in Bermuda, soccer, or football as we like to say, is played competitively 9 months a year. My club, Valencia, was coached by Andrew Bascome who has played all over the world and instilled in us that football is about a team and playing together. We learned the importance of team over individual. It was an exciting time for me as I would start up in the Fall and end up on a team of boys from all over the island, often times knowing none of them. I was able, during those years to win our season end competition, The Kappa Alpha, for my age group 3 times...a record I am very proud of.
At the age of 13, I ventured off to Connecticut for my education. I was one of just two 7th graders that made Varsity at my junior boarding school, Rumsey Hall. Rumsey went to 9th grade and I continued to play Varsity for my 3 years there. I joined Suffield Academy in my Sophmore year and have been playing for them on the varsity team.
I am looking for a Liberal Arts education and at this point have no definitive thoughts regarding a major. A well coached soccer program remains an important part of my school decision.
