- Owen is a technically gifted player as a central midfielder. After working with him, I think he has a lot of natural ability as a #6 but the versatility to play in a number of roles on the field due to his soccer IQ and vision. His technical ability is definitely above average for a high school junior and he's comfortable on the ball centrally with pressure coming from different directions. He's capable of playing out of pressure both short and long. Physically, he has a good frame for his age and will only grow into that in the coming years with strength and conditioning work. He has a bit of soccer savviness to him that you appreciate the more you watch him. He is a rhythmic type player that doesn't seem to get rattled. He just goes about his business on the field and is certainly capable of playing at the college level at a variety of levels in my opinion. His work rate on the field is very high and witnessing that in a camp setting was really good proof that he has the "grind capability" needed in college soccer across all divisions. Since camp, I have stayed in touch with Owen and over time have gained some more insight to his personality traits. He's a genuine young man that is respectful, hardworking, and academically motivated.
