My name is Nigel Martin. I am a confident player with good touches, good passes and vision, who remains calm under pressure. I am a starter for Windsor High School Varsity boys soccer team. I have been described as a Swiss army knife on the field in that I can play wherever my coach asks me to. My freshman year, my high school coach primarily used me as a winger; my sophomore year he used me as a holding and attacking midfielder. Currently in my junior year, I am attacking midfielder.
Throughout the course of my time with my premier club, I have played outside back, holding midfield, winger and forward. This year I will be returning to outside back
My sooccer accomplishments this year include being selected as team captain for my high school team captain and being named on the All conference team for the Central Connecticut COnfoerence Team. My other soccer accomplishmentsthroughout the course of my career include being selected for participation in the Red Bulls Regional Development Schools (RDS) winter clinics in 2018 & 2019 and in the National Center of Excellence (NCE) training programs in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, I played for my premier club team in the USYS regional EDP Championship Tournament where we made it to the semi finals. In 2022 my ECNL regional teammates and I made it to the ECNL regional Championship tournament in San Diego. I have also been to Sweden twice ( 2018 & 2022) to participate in the Gothia Cup.
My goal is to continue to play soccer while I am in college. I think my versatility and ability to maintain my composure make me a strong candidate for any team.
Off the field I am a solid student. I have been able to balance my athletic schedule with my academic workload, which includes a mix of honors, high honors and Advanced Placement classes.
