Sean Abrams '22 Recruiting Profile

Sports in general have been a large part of my life as long as I can remember inspired by my father.  It is my dream to study sports management and go on to work for a professional sports team (Philadelphia Union or Philadelphia Eagles) someday.  Soccer, more specifically, has been my passion since I was 6 years old.  I have been playing and excelling right from the start.  I have a great deal of confidence in my skills and abilities as well as my work ethic.  I believe in working as a team not an individual.  I always look for the smart play, the smart pass, and knowing when to shoot vs. maintaining possession.  I work well with all players and do my best to encourage everyone on my team to be and do their best.  I am a captain this year as a senior but have been in leadership positions on the team since sophomore year.  I have overcome an ACL tear in January 2020 to achieve first team all conference honors at the end of the 2020 season.  While I am not big on individual honors, I feel it speaks to my drive and determination to get back on the field and help my team and school succeed.  I have helped our team grow in my four years from a team that finished 8-6-1 my freshman year 2018 to a team that finished 13-2 in 2021 and is the #1 seed in the state tournament.  When my teammates have issues on the team, they come to me for advice.  They know I will listen and do what I can to assist them.  My passions are what drives me. Anything I have set my mind to I have achieved, from being a varsity starter my freshman year to coming back from my ACL tear.  COVID-19 and the impacts on education were definitely a struggle, however I have bounced back and am laser focused on doing well and furthering my education to become successful.  I would be an asset to any team and university and do everything I can to make both proud that they gave me a chance.
