My name is Jared Andrés Rey and my family is from Lima, Peru. I am a 5'6" central midfielder from Hollywood, FL and I am part of the graduating class of 2018. I play for one of the premier league clubs in Florida ranked 5th in the state and 13th in the region and I have played for the Florida ODP state team for the past 3 years. I am also captain of my club team and high school team as well.
What people do not really know about me is that besides being a student-athlete that focus' on his academics and puts that ahead of athletics, is that I am also an E Licensed USSF coach that assists a competitive U16 travel team. Coaching at a high level is what I see myself doing as a career because leading others on the right path and developing them into not only players, but good people, is what I want to do. Soccer is my passion and I want to be around, and in, the game as long as I can.
My key attributes as a player is my high work rate on the field during training and matches; my leadership on and off the field by being a vocal and positive example; my stamina by being able to keep playing for a 120 minute match at a high intensity; my ability to play simple by working the ball around and keeping possession; also my ability to go forward with the attack and find a pass to beat the line of defense; my vision and awareness to read the opposition's movement and intercept passes; my aggressiveness to protect the ball by using my body; and finally, my hunger to succeed and become a better player every day.
My goal is to compete and play at a high competitive level in college. Something about me that I think every coach will like is my dedication and commitment to the program. I would like to be part of a program that is very well disciplined and helps me develop into a player that can play and perform very well at the next level. I am very coachable by listening to what the coach has to say at any moment if it is positive or constructive criticism to improve my game.
At whichever school I attend after I graduate high school, my goal is to do everything I can to help the team succeed and lead them to achieve their goals to win conference, regional, and national titles.
