My goal after high school is to be challenged both academically and athletically in a program that meets my goals as a student athlete.
Academically, I have not always been the strongest student as indicated by my GPA, but my teachers would say that I am a hard worker. I struggled my freshman year, but I have been working very hard to bring my GPA up to a 3.0 in my core courses, even while taking honors and dual credit courses. By the end of my senior year, I will have obtained 12 college credits. I have also been accepted for an internship during my senior year at OZ Strength and Conditioning. This internship will provide me insight towards my intended major of Exercise Science or Sports Management.
Athletically, I have always had a desire to play college soccer and like to be challenged. Prior to my freshman year of high school, I challenged myself to earn a spot on the varsity team at Fort Wayne Northrop (+2100 students). I not only attained that goal, but also earned a starting position as right back and started every game that year. I have started every game but one since then, playing mostly as an outside mid. I play club soccer for Fort Wayne Sport Club, on one of the top U17 teams in the state. I am very strong on the ball, and a very versatile and athletic player, playing mainly as a forward/attacking mid due to team needs, but excel as a defensive mid/outside back. I respond well to a coach that is very demanding and challenges players to be their best every day.
Besides playing the game, I love to teach it as well. I have coached young kids in the Fort Wayne Sport Club Summer Rec program and have assisted at multiple Northrop High School camps. I have been a US Soccer referee since 2012 and volunteer at Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities, as well as a local food bank.
I feel that all of the above has helped me to become a well rounded person that will prove to be valuable member of any college soccer team, both in the classroom and on the pitch.
