Personal Statement

What makes me a good candidate for me on any team is that i will never give up on the team no matter how bad it gets on the field or in life. When i play soccer everything between me and another player, for instance if we do not like each other, is put aside for the greater good of the team because why should the team suffer if it is a problem unrelated to the team itself? On and off of the field i will always help anyone, younger or older and on Varsity or Junior Varsity. At practices to me i do not see it as JV and a Varsity team, to me i see a whole team that all wants to have fun playing a sport that they love and to improve on skills that they need help with. For this reason i help any players that ask me for help on JV and Varsity and i even help the players who play in different positions because i have played long enough to help them with whatever i can and even if i do not know much of their position i will play it or watch a professional game to see what could help them. On the field is where i leave my energy after every game a well. When i play i give it 110% and never back down in any condition. For my club and high school teams i am also a big impact on defense by saving goals. As a defender when i see my goalie rush out my first instinct is to cover their net and if they get beat i know it is my job to stop the ball as best i can or hold off the shot by attacking the player to give my keeper the time to recover. I also do not care if your game is off that day or not and i do not care what others say, but if i play and you are on my field i will make sure you get the touches on the ball. When that is said i mean that if no one is passing to you i will to get you involved. I am also a talker on the field and do not like walking so if i see anyone walking i will tell my captain, or if i am captain, to get them a break if they want it or not because in soccer you need the most energy on the field at all times.

What makes me different from other kids is that i know if i get scored on i will not give up and i will not put my head down. Once i see that ball go into my net i actually get my defenders up in hopes telling them that time is not the issue it is out time to pull out and give it what we got to get that goal back. My character is not bad because i see bad sportsmanship a lot as well as getting it. I hate bad sportsmanship so when i get called for a foul or not and i knock a kid down i will ask if they are okay and help them up. Another good thing about me is that if i see a player go down i will yell for my team to kick the ball out so the kid can have his, or our, trainer come over to check them out. Even when our team gets called for a foul and knocks someone down if they walk away from the other player they fouled i will tell them to calm down and keep their cool. Not only will i say that, but i will tell them to pick the player back up because that is the correct thing to do and after i say what i need while walking by them or standing with them i will go pick up the player and ask them if they feel fine still. I know what is right to do on the field, as well as off, so i always make sure my team is kept straight and keep their sportsmanship high and if they hurt a kid to immediately tell them my bad or i am sorry and pick them up.
