I’ve played soccer for as long as I can remember. Soccer started out as a hobby, but through the years it has turned into passion. I have always been inspired and supported by my mom and aunt who are both life long goalkeepers. Soccer is more than just a sport to me. It's how my family connects, it’s what I want to do when life is good and what I need to do when life is stressful and difficult. It's helped me learn the value of habits that set me up for success that will benefit through my entire life. Soccer helped me learn to challenge myself, the higher I set my goals the harder I work. Soccer has also taught me how to turn obstacles into motivators. When my mom and I lost an immediate family member, being in goal was where I felt like I battled grief the best. That is how I learned the importance of having multiple ways to handle challenges and difficult times in life. I've learned about reality also, the reality of giving everything I have and still not getting the outcome I hoped for.
I know I will start a new experience of learning about myself and about life through collegiate soccer. My short term goal is to play through college and for as long as possible, but my long term goal is to keep it a part of my life to share with my family and kids in the future.
