Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old, because it is a strong part of my family culture along with the local cultural of where I live in Amman, Jordan. From the first moment I ever stepped on to the soccer pitch I knew that this sport is what I wanted to dedicate my life to.
I have amazing vision when it comes to putting my fellow teammate attackers through to the goal. Also, I specialize in dribbling, passing and shooting as they are my strongest attributes. I also know how to lead by example by captaining my teammates through to the championship. Additionally, I have a strong winning mentality which I will put every last ounce of my energy to win the game.
As captain of my team, we won the Jordanian Professional Soccer Championship in a league that was held for 6 months. We had our ups and downs during this tournament, but we pulled through having mental toughness and patience through everything. This my proudest achievement because from it I was able to walk away with lifelong lessons I will carry with me through the everyday. It taught me that wanting to win something comes with effort and commitment and patience. Playing this 6-month long league taught me that even when times were tough and physically we were not able to cope with the pressure anymore especially at the last stages, we learnt how to become mentally stronger in order to get the job done.
When breaking my collarbone on the last game of the league it really had a strong impact on me because I broke it during the last game of the season. I was so frustrated because I was worried I would not be able to recover in time for the next season. This ordeal taught me patience and the importance of physical therapy in order to recover. I made sure to train hard so that I could be in tip-top shape so I could play to my maximum capacity.
Outside of soccer, I study hard to ensure I have a great GPA so that I can achieve success both academically and in sports. I want to play at the highest level of competition all the while ensuring I am able to study at the undergraduate level too so that I can serve as a role model for my community.
