Jacob Harburger '25 Recruiting Profile

I am interested in being a goalkeeper for a D1 university that has a team with a balanced approach to soccer that incorporates a winning mindset with a love of the game. I am looking for a university that has a rigorous academic program with a wide array of majors across subjects and disciplines. 

I have been playing soccer for over a decade. My love for the game has grown while playing on rec, travel, club, and school teams. As a goalkeeper, I have had the chance to use my leadership abilities on and off the field. Off the field, one of the activities I participate in is a teen leadership program called Peer Leadership Fellows. I am part of this group with the goal of strengthening my communication skills with others. On the field as a goalkeeper, I find communication to be one of the most important aspects of the position; therefore, I want to strengthen this ability in every way possible. 

Everyday, whether during school or practice, I strive to be my best self. I prioritize maintaining excellent grades in challenging courses, including an AP course along with five honors classes. I do this while also balancing my heavy soccer schedule for both high school and club teams, coaching a middle school Futsal team, and participating in the Peer Leadership Fellows program. These activities have helped me in becoming a more well-rounded person.
