Personal Statement
I come from a large family of seven, being the second oldest I was always looked at as the example for everyone in my family because of how fast I picked up on things. I would really like to compete at a higher level because I love to challenge and push myself to be better each day, and the only way to do that is to play with people who are as good or even better than me. I am very different than most players because of my dedication and work ethic on and off the field. I have played many sports in my life such as football, soccer, and wrestling. Soccer, of course, has been my preferred sport for the past few years, but I didn't start playing until the end of 8th-grade year. Although I have only been playing soccer for four years I have progressed into an aggressive and skillful player by spending countless hours training and working on my game to get where I currently am. I am passionate about the game of soccer and just hungry for the game in every sense. Soccer has helped me make such a dramatic change in my life by teaching me the importance of education, dedication, and perseverance through the opportunities it has to offer. It wasn't until after my Freshman year that I woke up to reality and understood that education can open a lot of doors and can help me achieve a good start in life. I had a pretty rough start in high school from not caring about grades to just not even coming which I really regret because it gave me the worst start with a GPA of 1.3 and I'm glad I had so much support from teachers and coaches that showed me the importance of education and what you could do with it. Since then I have matured a lot and have changed my perspective on school by working hard every day and doing everything possible to better my grades, and my attitude in order to spend more time bettering my game.
