Coach,

I am currently a Junior at Walkersville High School, Maryland. I have grown up with soccer and it has always been my motivation and passion in life. I am a starting keeper at my high school on varsity and I split time as keeper for my club team Potomac ECNL 08B. I have always had the goal of playing soccer at the highest level.

I have always been motivated to be the best player I can be on the field, but also the best human I can be off the field. I have been pushed by my parents and myself to set a high standard for academics and so far, it has really paid off well with my GPA. I always strive to be better because I live off of what one of my coaches told me when I was younger. He yelled at me during a game and told me, "You're better than this." It motivates me for whenever I am struggling on and off the field to keep pushing and to keep fighting to get better and I believe that's what sets me apart from other players. I also take criticism very well because I want others to tell me what I need to improve on, and it drives me to work on it.

My long-term goal is to pursue my interest in biomedical engineering and play at a D1, D2, or D3 level. I also hope to be able to show my skills, attitude, coachability, and motivation that would make me a great player for your team. Finally, I appreciate your consideration for reading my statement and hopefully I'll be able to impress you.
