Hi My name is Richard Ferreira and I have been playing soccer since age 6, I'm a Brazillian-American player who learned how to play the game when my family moved back to Brazil and then came back to the U.S. My goals for college soccer are to succeed not just as a player but as a teammate and help my team reach the highest phase it possibly can. I want to contribute and help in any way possible and always give it my all so can achieve our goal to reach the top of the conference and my goal to play pro and go beyond. What makes me a good candidate for the team is that I can play with both my right and left foot, I have good ball distribution with both feet, and can play in any position if needed. My main position is CDM, but also very versatile playing outside back on many occasions, and have played CB as well. I have the urge to win always give it my all and never quit even if things may not go our way. I know you coaches have a lot of talent for you to choose from but what makes me different from many is that I am responsible, always on time, a good listener, respectful, social, open to any suggestions for improvement, put my team first instead of me and always be a role model for my peers. In terms of the game itself, I always try to create plays that could result in great chances for the team and when needed rush back on defense to help my teammates stop the opposition, I’m pretty vocal in games and practice, and always get along with everyone. In terms of academics, I am an A+ and A student who is always looking to challenge myself to get the best grade possible and achieve my dreams, also always do my schoolwork and very rarely ever miss assignments. To this day I’m proud to say that never have had any fights or problems with students or staff members and I have a perfect record and have never been absent ( only in cases of emergency). I also strive to be the best person I can be . In terms of leadership I've had the opportunity to lead my high school soccer team to its first conference win in 10 years and thanks to the blessings God has given me, I've been able to break expectations yearly and perform to the best at each stage!
