Personal Statement
Profile
Ever since I can remember I have loved playing soccer. My father is from Argentina and I think I was able to kick a ball as soon as I could walk. Watching soccer games on television and kicking the ball around is a constant in our household. I started playing competitively at age 5. My family has moved a few times and I have been on different teams, playing in different states, and at different levels. From 2015 until fall of 2020 I had lived in Massachusetts and moved up from NEP to NPL to ECNL. At the present, I am attending the International Development Academy in Valencia, Spain for my senior year. I was recently awarded the Man of the Month recognition for November 2020.
My goal is to play at the college level as I follow my dream to play professional soccer. I have mostly played forward and wing during my soccer career but last year started playing defensive midfielder. I believe I am a very versatile player, having great foot skills and the knowledge to play different positions. Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to learn more about me.
My ability
"Marcos, you have been an incredible utility player. Your knowledge of the game allows you to read situations combined with your strength and technical ability, allows you to control games". UW-Madison Elite soccer camp coach, 2019. I appreciate all the feedback I get from coaches and feel this quote is a good representation of who I am.
My philosophy
I like to think of myself as a good team player and a good teammate. I really feel it is important to contribute to the teams that I am on in many ways. At the same time I know have to always work on my own skills and try to concentrate on what I can control. It is not always easy :). I very much enjoy the camaraderie of being on a team and helping my team be better.
My dreams
Going to Spain this past Spring was a fantastic opportunity to play against Spanish youth teams and train with professional coaches such as those from Atlético de Madrid. My time now in Valencia is a great challenge and I feel is preparing me bigger and greater opportunities in the future,
