I am a soccer player, as well as a mentor and a leader. My goals are to be a physical therapist or social worker and a strong college soccer player who may coach or play in the future. I want to use soccer and sports to help the children I work with set goals, make positive choices, and develop confidence. As a player for Liverpool South Jersey 2008 Boys, I put my heart on the field and I give my all in every play. I build up my teammates and encourage them through wins and losses, which is why I am co-captain of my team. I give my best efforts in everything I do, in soccer, school, and life.
One step toward my goals is my time volunteering. I volunteer in a middle school one Friday a month to do a program called Red Zone with the school counselors and the school social worker. Red Zone is for 3rd through 6th grade students who need positive behavior models, and I serve as a high school athlete role model. I guide the students through discussions on the "champion mentality", making choices in different situations that the counselors present, and modeling positive decision-making. I also talk about team building and the importance of being a good teammate because we're always stronger when we work as a team. I talk to the students about supporting my teammates on and off the field and being someone who they can rely on. We also do sports activities like soccer drills or shooting baskets to make the sessions fun. I've been doing Red Zone since October 2022, and I really enjoy working with the counselors and the students.
