Personal Statement

I love soccer and its one of the most important things in my life.  My goal is to play college soccer and earn a college degree in engineering.  However, I don't want to just play, I want to learn and improve my soccer game and help my team win as many games as possible every season, including postseason.

Club Information

  • 5 seasons
  • 2022 PDA Hibernians Modric (USYS Elite 64)
  • I'm the starting CDM for the U19 PDA Hibernian Modric team. I also play as a CAM or winger when the team is in need of a goal. My team is competing in the USYS E64 league this season with showcases in Orlando, Fl/Wilson, NC, and San Diego, CA. We also have league play throughout the northeast and mid Atlantic region. As the CDM my role is move the ball and initiate attack with my passing vision. Defensively I have to cut passing lanes and win tackles/duels. When I'm pushed up to CAM or winger, my role is to attack defenders one v one to create my own scoring chances or to use my one v one skill to put pressure on defenses to pass for my teammates to score. I'm most comfortable attacking defenses and creating chances to score myself or setting up my teammates to score.
  • 2021 PDA Hibernians Kane (Club)
  • I was the starting midfielder (CDM/CAM) all season while also playing as winger/striker. My team competed in the USYS National League in Orlando, FL and in the EDP National League locally. From the CDM position my role is to setup our attacking play and cut passing lanes and hold the middle on defense. When I move forward my role is to attack the defense one v one or create scoring chances for wingers/strikers to consistently score. Our game plan generally runs through me whether I'm the CDM or CAM.
  • 2020 REAL JERSEY FC (USYS National League)
  • 2019 Real Jersey FC 05 (USYS National League)
  • The 2005 Real JFC boys will be competing in the USYS National League which is a national league that features the best club and academy teams in the country. Selection to the National League is earned through state and regional cup competitions. The real JFC 2005 boys team competed in the USYS National League in 2018 and finished 3rd overall and in the Spring 2019 season they won their division and the divisional playoff game to earn a spot again in the 2019 USYS National League season. The team will be competing in Panama City Beach, Florida December 12-15 and in Las Vegas March 13-15 to automatically qualify for the 2019 USYS National Championship. Schedules will be added once USYS releases the information.
  • 2018 Real Jersey FC 05 (USYS National League)
  • Matthew plays with the Real JFC 2005 boys team and has been a member of this team since U10. As a member of this team he has won two NJYS State championships and two NJ Cup State championships and finished as a finalist and semi-finalist once each. His team competed in the USYS Region I Championships in June 2018 finishing third and Matthew was invited to play with the 2004 Boys Real JFC team in the 2018 USYS National Championships where he helped the team finished second overall in the nation. In the 2018-2019 season, his team competed in the USYS National League finishing third in their division against top clubs and academy teams across the country. He has served as team captain and played various positions, predominantly as a Attacking/Holding Center Midfielder, outside midfielder/winger/striker and occasionally as an outside back. He is a goal scorer and playmaker that is comfortable in one v one situations and/or springing players into the attack. Creativity is perhaps his biggest strength overall.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
