My name is Jaime Roggio and I am a 2022 graduate. On the ice, I am a creative player that uses speed to rush the puck and to create opportunities for myself and my teammates. Although I am small, I am strong on the puck and play physically in front of the net and in the corners. I take pride in my defensive positioning and my hockey IQ. I am an offensive contributor, but can be relied on for all game situations. I play on Shawnee High School’s boys JV and varsity ice hockey teams. Playing on a boys hockey team has taught me how to fill roles on a team and made me tougher. However, the thing that sets me apart from others is my work ethic and leadership. I am easy to work with and bring a good energy to a team with my positive attitude. In youth hockey, I have always played above my age group. But leadership positions are something that have always seemed to come naturally to me. In the past, I was captain of the U16 Princeton Tiger Lilies, as well as an alternative captain the year before. In the 2019-2020 season, I was 15 years old and a point leader on the U19 Princeton Tiger Lilies. I continue to lead on my current team as an alternative captain and top scorer. I am a competitive person and always work hard on the ice, no matter what the score is. As I grow as a player, I actively communicate with my coaches and look for areas to improve upon in my game.
