Michael (Mikey) Girard '28 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach,

I am a dedicated soccer player and enjoy every aspect of the game. I am of the graduating class of 2028. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old and currently playing U15 with the MLS Next league. I usually play center defensive mid (6), center mid (8) or center defense (4). I have a strong drive to improve in my game and work very hard in school, my current GPA is 3.97.  I was captain of the top ECNL Academy team when I was U12/U13, Captain of the Charlotte FC MLS youth academy at U14. I have a strong work ethic and I push myself and other teammates to never give up. I am well respected on my team and in the soccer community of Charlotte NC. I train with Own Touch when I have nights off from club practices and I volunteer coach summer training session for Own Touch. I love to give back and work with the younger kids sharing my passion for the sport.

My goal for college is to find a good fit on the soccer field and in the classroom.  I will work to be a role model student and on the soccer field I will work to be a ‘pace setter‘.  I push myself hard during practices and games.  I hold myself accountable and help to encourage my teammates to give it there all, I also encourage my teammates during games when I see them getting down.  I am a well-rounded person who comes with strong leadership, tenacity, grit, speed and loyalty for my teammates, family, and friends.

Overall, my goal is to contribute to a competitive College Soccer Program, thank you for your consideration as I know I will add great value to your team and work to prove just that.
